SPS: Software Protection System
Kryptos Logic focuses on on three key areas of software protection:
1. Digital Rights Management (Licensing): Method to distribute and track license usage as well as define terms of usage when distributing software based products.
2. Intellectual Property: Proprietary source code and keeping trade secrets secret. Transform code into a form which to human and computer analysis is incomprehensible.
3. Anti Piracy/Anti Circumvention: Prevent pirated software. Combing the first two points and binding them together, so there is no single point of failure. All DRM and protection technologies are fused together to executable code (not data) to become a safely distributable package.
Intellectual property is one of the most important assets to a software company. However, a lack of suitable solutions currently exists amongst the copy protection market. Current software protections employ either IP protection or anti piracy, although very little success in an effort of combing the solutions proper. For more than two decades, software protection and Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions have been commercially available. The evolution of software protection has grown from basic license checks to advanced code wrappers, code mutation, and dongles (security tokens). Nonetheless, piracy thrives and remains a common threat to a products lifecycle.
